FLYTRAP "TYPICAL" Unknown Common Seed Grown (Dionea Muscipula)

$11.99

I’m not into selling “starter plants” and won’t be sending any tiny specimens. The plants I offer are called “typicals,” my easy way of skipping research into the exact variety—if I even know it. I’ve got over 30 different species, including cultivars and seed-grown plants, in my collection.

While I know a bit about some of the more well-known ones, I’m no botanical expert and don’t want to label a plant as a specific variety if I’m unsure, nor do I feel like pestering friends who are better at species ID than I am.

Sometimes plants get mislabeled, bought incorrectly, grown from seed as typicals, or lose their tags—it happens. Occasionally, they pop up as volunteer plants in pots and can’t be accurately identified. They can vary in size, color, and even trap shape.

Because of their larger size and length, they’re shipped bare root with a 2.5-inch pot and media to fill it. Protecting a potted plant with my setup is tricky, while tiny plants ship easily in pots. That’s why bare root works best for both buyer and grower—it gives you the full experience from planting to enjoying.

Buying typicals is like a box of chocolates—you never know what you’ll get! But it’s a budget-friendly way to grow your flytrap collection. Photos are just representative, not of any specific plant or type. If the description says red or green, the plant will be as close as possible to those colors—some might lean more purple, others green with red tinges, and so on.
