The Hercules Sundew (Drosera capensis alba x aliciae) is a medium-sized, hybrid plant with broad, strap-like leaves covered in red tentacles. Its green and red foliage glistens in sunlight, and it traps insects in sticky dew, rolling its leaves over prey to digest them within days.
Mature plants can span up to 12 inches, showing off green and red tones with sparkling tentacles that catch insects. It’s easy to care for, thriving in warm, sunny, and boggy spots, and while it adapts well, it prefers peaty soil and full sun.
In summer, it puts out tall stalks covered in pink flowers and produces seeds that can be sown right away or stored. Though usually grown as a tropical, it can handle mild winters by dropping its leaves and bouncing back in spring.
Plants are shipped bare-root with moist sphagnum moss or media and a 3.5 inch pot, and growing instructions included. *Pics are for reference and are not intended to show a particular plant.
